1966
OUR ORIGINS
In 1966, “Max Dörr GmbH, Förderanlagen” (Conveyor Systems) was founded in Gemmingen near Heilbronn. To this day, the company manufactures and sells conveyor systems for the in-house transport of individually packaged goods.
1995
Development of the
cutlery wrapping machine
Spurred by the current recession and an unusual customer request, the company bravely stepped outside its core business and developed a machine that wraps cutlery in napkin paper.
2000
PRESENTATION OF THE CUTLERY WRAPPING MACHINE
After five years of development, the world’s first cutlery wrapping machine was ready to go into production, making its debut at HOGATEC, the international trade fair for hotel and catering technology hosted by Messe Düsseldorf.
2001
FOUNDING OF THOMAS DÖRR CUTLERY AND KITCHEN SYSTEMS
The cutlery wrapping machine’s tremendous success led to the founding of subsidiary “Thomas Dörr Besteck- und Küchensysteme” (Cutlery and Kitchen Systems).
2002
LAUNCH OF THE FIRST READY-FOR-MARKET
CUTLERY POLISHING MACHINE
The launch of CD 3000, our first cutlery polishing machine, paved the way for numerous of customer-oriented solutions for the catering and hotel industries.
2004
TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENTS AND NEW MODELS
Our market analysis and numerous customer requests indicated a demand for machines in different sizes. Over the following years, we developed many models more.
2008
PATENTED AUTOMATED FILLING SYSTEM
With our new TD 3000 Fill&Go model, we helped reduce the time and personnel costs previously required for inserting cutlery by hand. Other models were subsequently equipped with our Fill&Go technology.

LAUNCH OF OUR GLASs POLISHING MACHINES
A perfectly set table needs perfectly polished glasses. Once we had recognized the potential, we started manufacturing our glass polishing machines.
2012
THE NEXT GENERATION OF CUTLERY WRAPPING MACHINES
By completely reworking our models, we succeeded in increasing capacities by 20%, lowering costs by 30% and reducing the required space by 40%.
2014
Construction of a new Production and Warehousing Hall
Due to the sustained success of Max Dörr GmbH and the huge growth of its subsidiary, the company building was expanded.
2016
FRESH BUTTER AT THE PUSH OF A BUTTON –
A HYGIENIC SOLUTION
EasyButter – our butter dispenser. An innovative and hygienic solution to keep butter cooled, yet spreadable at the breakfast buffet.
2019
A NEW DESIGN FOR A TRUSTED PARTNER
As the youngest generation joined the company, it was renamed „Thomas Dörr GbR Küchensysteme“ (Kitchen Systems) and given a new, updated logo.
2021
TAKING AUTOMATION TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL
After presenting the prototype in 2019, we launched our latest development: the cutlery sorting machine.
2022/2023
EXTENSION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING
After a construction period of almost 15 months, the former home of the company founder Max Dörr was expanded and converted into an energy-efficient wooden building that was about twice the size.
