We are a third-generation, owner-managed family business. For over 20 years, we have been combining more than 50 years of experience in plant engineering with innovative ideas to address the unique challenges of commercial kitchens and the foodservice industry in our kitchen systems.

1966
Max Dörr GmbH, Conveyor Systems, was founded in 1966 in Gemmingen, near Heilbronn. To this day, the company specializes in the manufacture and sale of conveyor systems for the internal transport of general cargo.
1992
After earning his degree in industrial engineering, Thomas Dörr took over his parents’ company in 1992—at the height of a difficult period for the automotive industry. Years of upheaval followed.
1995
In times of recession and an unusual customer request, the company boldly worked outside its core business to develop a machine that would wrap cutlery in napkin paper.
2000
After 5 years of development, the cutlery wrapping machine, which is ready for series production, was presented as a world first at the HOGATEC trade fair for hotel and catering technology in Düsseldorf.
2001
The great success of the cutlery wrapping machine led to the founding of the subsidiary Thomas Dörr Besteck- und Küchensysteme in 2001.
2002
The launch of our first CD 3000 cutlery polishing machine was the starting signal for further customer-oriented solutions in the catering and hospsitality industry.
2004
A market analysis and numerous customer inquiries revealed a need for machines of various sizes. Over the years, many more models followed.
2008
With the new “TD 3000 Fill&Go” model, the time previously spent by staff on manually loading cutlery was eliminated. Later, additional models were also equipped with the Fill&Go system. Emblems anuga Taste09 & Sparkassen Innovation Award
2010
A perfectly set table also calls for perfectly polished glasses. Recognizing this potential marked the beginning of the production of glass polishing machines.
2012
A complete redesign has enabled us to increase capacity by 20%, cut costs by 30% and reduce space requirements by 40%.
2014
Due to the continuing success of Max Dörr GmbH and the immense growth of the subsidiary, the company building was extended.
2016
After completing his studies in business administration, Patrik Dörr made a conscious decision—for his family and for the company.
2016
EasyButter – the butter dispenser. An innovative solution for presenting butter at the breakfast buffet—chilled, spreadable, and hygienic.
2019
When the youngest generation joins the company, the name is changed to “Thomas Dörr GbR Küchensysteme” and a new, modernized logo is introduced.
2021
Following the presentation of the prototype in 2019, the market launch of our latest development – the cutlery sorting machine – will begin.
2023
After a construction period of merely15 months, the former home of company founder Max Dörr was extended and converted into an energy-efficient building in timber construction that is around twice the size.
2024
After Patrik Dörr joined the companies in 2016, Thomas Dörr officially handed over management of the company to him at the 2024 Christmas party.
2025
In March 2025, we had the opportunity to showcase our new EasyButter Pro butter dispenser at INTERNORGA in Hamburg. This innovative upgrade features a new, modern design and has been technically updated.
2026
25 years of Thomas Dörr Kitchen Systems and 60 years of Max Dörr Conveyor Systems: definitely a reason to celebrate. With this anniversary, we are celebrating the connections that define both companies: the connection within the Dörr family spanning three generations, the close ties to employees and customers, and the connection across time—from the past into the future. Connected together—since 1966 & 2001.
